Good news for anyone who has trouble sleeping!
Researchers investigated the impact of mixing cow's milk and honey on the sleep quality of 68 patients hospitalized with acute coronary syndrome, a condition that can lead to sleep disturbances due to medical monitoring and interventions.
After three days, the group that received the mixture showed significant improvement in sleep scores when compared to the control group. The conclusion? Cow's milk + honey is effective and affordable to improve patients' sleep.
Tryptophan in milk, an amino acid associated with the production of serotonin and melatonin (respectively, “well-being hormone” and “sleep hormone”), was identified as possibly responsible for this positive effect. A simple but incredible discovery!
